2026 CRE8IV Sculpture Biennial

GoRockford supports and elevates public art through CRE8IV, a nationally competitive program that places large-scale, accessible art in highly visible public spaces throughout the Rockford region. Artists selected for CRE8IV gain year-round exposure within one of the Midwest’s most expansive public art collections, experienced by both residents and visitors.

The CRE8IV Sculpture Biennial is a two-year outdoor exhibition. Started in 2018 with 8 pieces, CRE8IV currently features 34 sculptures, with 11 works permanently acquired, demonstrating a strong commitment to artists and long-term public investment in their work.

GoRockford will select up to five sculptures for the 2026–2028 CRE8IV Sculpture Biennial. Selected works must be a minimum of 7 feet tall and substantial in structure and scale, suitable for outdoor public settings. Artists receive an honorarium of $2,500–$5,000, based on the size and scope of the work, plus a travel stipend.
