The Gateway International Painting Competition

The Gateway International Painting Competition is a juried monthly and annual online painting competition at PaintingContest.Org, open to artists world wide over 18 years old. Comprised of 12 separate monthly competitions within an annual competition, it  begins the first day of each month and ends 11:59 pm the last day of each month, Arizona USA time, spanning August 1st to July 31st the following year.

Each month, a cash prize is awarded to Best in Show in 3 categories:  representational, abstract, and novice.  Best in Show and up to 17 additional monthly Finalists receive a certificate of recognition and accomplishment including judges’ written comment regarding their selection and future entry credits. Best in Show and Finalists from all 12 months compete for annual juried Grand Awards with additional cash prizes of $1,000 to winners announced in September.

Types of Work Accepted:
All painting media is accepted, including but not limited to oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, pencil, ink, and mixed media. As the competition is online, registered member artists may enter paintings by uploading quality images of their work; there is no need to ship the physical painting or travel to another location. Finalists and Best in Show winners are announced on or after the 20th of the following month. Paintings entered are further promoted and shared through social media.
