MyMA monthly artist grant | $500 grant with free application

MyMA Artist Grant is a monthly juried grant that provides an unrestricted $500 award to one artist each month. In addition to the winner, our jurors recognize 5 artists as honorable mentions for each edition. We publish a written or video profile of the selected artists on MyMA's website and social channels.

Submissions for the April edition of the MyMA Artist Grant are open now through April 30th. To ensure accessibility and inclusivity, applications are free.

About the juror

The MyMA Artist Grant April juror is Eric Hibit. Eric Hibit is a New York based artist, educator, and Co-Director of Ortega y Gasset Projects, an artist run gallery based in Brooklyn. Hibit has exhibited nationally at Morgan Lehman Gallery; Dinner Gallery; Deanna Evans Projects; Tiger Strikes Asteroid; Underdonk Gallery; Ortega y Gasset Projects; Field Projects; C24 Gallery, Anna Kustera Gallery; Max Protetch Gallery; Curator’s Office; Geoffrey Young Gallery; The Cape Cod Museum of Art; and The University of Vermont. 

His work has been reviewed in the Washington Post, The Village Voice, Hyperallergic, Newsweek, New York Times and New York Post. He has taught studio art at Tyler School of Art; Hunter College; NYU; The Cooper Union; Suffolk County Community College; and The 92nd Street Young Men’s and Young Women’s Hebrew Association. He attended the Corcoran College of Art + Design and Yale University School of Art.

Eligibility

• Artists must be 18 or older.
• Visual artists working in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, installation, digital art, and other media may apply. We regret that we do not accept submissions for Video art, film, music, theatre, or dance at this time.
