Told by an Idiots popular intensive Directors workshop is back for the seventh year running!

The role of the Director in the devising process isnt always straightforward but can be the most rewarding experience a Director can have. This fascinating and intensive workshop led by Told by an Idiot co-founder and Artistic Director Paul Hunter will examine in depth the role of the Director during a collaborative writing project.

By exploring some of the crucial aspects of devising, including establishing trust, creating a playful atmosphere, liberating the performer, generating materials (verbal and physical), editing and the relationship with the creative team, the participants will gain a unique insight into Told by an Idiots devising process from a Directors perspective.

This workshop always sells out in advance so be sure to book your place soon. For more information, please contact our Participation Manager Amanda Castro on

We are able to offer a two subsidised places on this workshop for Deaf and/or disabled directors please contact Amanda Castro for more information on this.
