Loretta Kaufman to Exhibit in NAWA’s “Small Works Winter 2020” Exhibition

Loretta Kaufman’s acrylic painting “Animated Forms IV (Family Group III): Series M” was selected to be part of Small Works, a National Association of Women Artists’ (NAWA) Exhibition in February. The exhibition was open to NAWA members and non-members who are US citizens and permanent residents.
No larger than 15” x 15” x 5”, the 63 artworks include paintings, photography, prints, mixed media and sculptures. Captured in this year’s exhibit is a demonstration of artistry in the use of design and color which allows the observer to share in each artist’s creative process. These are truly small creations with big perspectives. The exhibition runs from February 5 – 26, 2020 at the NAWA Gallery, 315 West 39th Street, Suite 508, New York, New York. Gallery hours are Tue-Fri from 10 am to 5 pm with a reception on February 13th between 5 to 7 pm. NAWA can be reached at 212-675-1616.
NAWA continues its long history of nurturing and inspiring talented, visionary and dynamic women artists from throughout the United States. Founded in 1889 by five brave and innovative women who were barred from full participation in the male dominated National Academy of Design and the Society of American Artists, NAWA’s existence is a testament to the integral and essential role of women in the art world. Documented exhibitions are archived within the Smithsonian Institution archives.
In nearly five decades Nashville sculptor and painter, Loretta Kaufman, has produced work in several media that focus on the environment. Loretta’s work has been juried into many of Fusion Art’s international exhibitions and won awards for both her sculptures and paintings. In 2018, “Kingfisher With Minnow & Dragonfly: Circle of Life Series” was one of 3 paintings included in Artist’s Choice. The painting went on to receive the Cecile Adler Cliffer Memorial Cutting Edge Award in the National Association of Women Artists 129th Annual Members’ Exhibition in New York City in October 2018. Also in 2018 Loretta’s clay sculpture, “Double Monologues I: The Celia Series”, was exhibited in NAWA’s Small Works in New York and went on to win an Honorable Mention in Fusion Arts’ Women Artists.
