Audition Notice - ZfinMalta National Dance Company

ŻfinMalta, the National Dance Company of Malta, under the artistic direction of Paolo Mangiola, is holding an audition for female, male and non-binary dancers.

ŻfinMalta is a talented and adaptable dance ensemble with a diversity of creative voices reflecting the many influences that are part of today’s Malta. Since its inception, the company has pioneered fresh thinking about contemporary dance in the Maltese Islands and raised the profile of dance exponentially. We work with the best dancers and choreographers from Malta and around the globe to create productions that are bold and current and of a world-class standard. Our productions are always collaborative, engaging choreographers, set and costume designers, composers, and visual artists from Malta and internationally, and partnering with other organisations in theatre, opera, music and the visual arts.

Our work invites audiences to contemplate and question our contemporary world, with the ambition to enrich the lives of all who interact with the company – audiences, collaborators and participants alike.

Our repertoire includes works by: Paolo Mangiola, Tânia Carvalho, Francesca Pennini, Núria Guru, Georgia Tegou, Roy Assaf, Jacopo Godani and Emanuel Gat.

We are looking for dancers with excellent coordination skills, a solid background in classical ballet and contemporary dance practices, and who have the ability to actively contribute to the creative process and adapt to the varied methodologies of the choreographers we work with.

Female dancers should feel confident with pointe work.

A minimum 2 years of professional dance experience is required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to audition on Saturday 11th February 2023 at the ŻfinMalta studios, Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, Malta.

Selected candidates will be asked to stay on for an extra day, Sunday 12th February 2023.
