Self-Directed Artist in Residence Program

Indulge in an affordable Self-Directed Artist Residency in the historic Caetani heritage house in Canada's wine country - the Okanagan Valley of BC. The self-directed residencies are open to emerging and established artists, writers and creatives (of all disciplines) for a timeframe between 2 weeks to 3 months.

Number of Participants

You are welcome to apply as an individual, as artistic collaborators, and as couples. Our 3 residencies consist of 3 private rooms sharing a second floor suite including bathroom, kitchen, living room, library and main floor entryway.

CURRENT + UPCOMING AVAILABILITY:

Fogliano Room: from now - March 8th, March 29th - April 24th then June 12th onward.

Caetani Room: from now - May 29th. June 24th onwards.

Sermoneta Room: from April 10th-May 10th. Anytime between November 4th, 2019 and April 30th, 2020.

Teano Suite: from now - April 10th. 

DATES: ongoing availability (minimum 2 weeks, maximum 3 months) RATES: between $10-$30/night depending on room + season

NOTIFICATION: within 5 days of application received

INCLUDED IN THE RESIDENCY: for a reasonable fee (between $10-$30/night depending on room + season) artists stay in their own room with shared accommodations (kitchen, bathroom, living room, entryway) at the Caetani Cultural Centre (a heritage house walking distance of downtown Vernon.) If desired, artists are offered the opportunity to teach a workshop and offer a reading/presentation/etc.

NOT INCLUDED IN THE RESIDENCY: travel expenses, food, health insurance, art materials, shipping costs, exhibition costs and other personal expenses.
