Light Residency

Phoenix Athens launches a new light residency programme for artists who wish to live in Athens. The light residency coincides with the Villa Exarcheia and is designed to help artists to develop their practice and conduct research in Athens. Living accommodation and use of a painting and sculpture workshop facility is provided for up to two months.

Phoenix Athens provides participants in this program with vital information about the many exhibition venues and art spaces in Athens and will help you to connect with other artists and curators living and working in Athens.  This allows for directed research and production making the most of your time in the city, beefing up your portfolio or CV and deepening your knowledge of Greek culture and the myriad ways in which it continues to inform the arts today.

Light residency artists are also invited to provide the public with a studio visit or workshop in order to establish relationships with the local community and gain exposure as well as feedback from the community. Phoenix Athens Gallery puts its promotional tools and machinery at your disposal to insure these events are well publicized and attended.
