CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: ARTISTS' RESIDENCIES IN ROME

Abbey Awards offer all expenses paid residencies in excellent modern studios at the British School at Rome in 2019/20 for artists, predominantly painters in the expanded field, whose work shows exceptional merit and promise. The 9 month Scholarship is awarded to an early-career artist and carries a monthly stipend of £800.  The 3 month Fellowships, with monthly stipends of £1200, are offered to mid-career artists.

To apply: download and complete the application form from the website and email this with 8 images via We Transfer. The application fee is £25. British and American citizens and those of any other nationalities who have lived for at least five years during the last 10 years in either the United Kingdom or the United States are eligible to apply.  There is no age limit.

The British School at Rome is a recently renovated building with purpose built live work studios housing a community of scholars researching architecture, ancient history, archaeology and art history - a bridge between the intellectual and cultural heart of Rome and Italy.
