ARTIST IN RESIDENCE OPEN CALL 2024

We welcome artists and organizers from diverse practices and backgrounds, researchers, curators, and critics for 1-3 months.

You will be immersed in Lisbon’s vibrant underground artistic community. Engaging in our eclectic program of events, schedule of exhibitions, and collaborating with community members.

Either as a resident or for those already in Lisbon, a studio residency.

We offer residents the possibility to explore techniques, concepts, ideas, and collaborations, to develop a final project.

Throughout, you will receive curatorial guidance and support from our welcoming community.

At the end of the program, each resident will be offered the opportunity to exhibit their works in a final exhibition, publication, workshop, open studio, or performance in the gallery space in Prisma.

Duration of residency

1-3 months

Starting on the 3rd of January 2024

Accommodation

Prisma’s residency accommodation is located at Rua do Benformoso 155, on the 3rd floor. It is a four bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, a fully equipped shared kitchen, a living room and a balcony overlooking Martim Moniz square.

Close to an array of public transportation, Rua do Benformoso is home to Lisbon’s largest multicultural vessel where you can find restaurants and convenience stores along it from many different cultures. You can also find local businesses and diners nearby. Being at the city’s centre, it’s near to many other cultural associations and picturesque spots to pique your interest.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance

The program is open to all disciplines. Prisma provides technical assistance and work equipment upon request.

Studio / Workspace

Prisma’s studio is located within a 2 minute walk from accommodation. It has a shared workshop with WiFi and materials, a bathroom and a peaceful garden.

Fees and support

825 euros/month

Residency Fee includes:

– accommodation

– studio access

– technical assistance

– weekly project discussion

– exhibition

Expectations towards the artist

Artists are expected to participate in a residents exhibition at the end of the residency.
