ORTO Artist Residency

Located in the peaceful village of Fornelo, just 30 minutes from Porto, ORTO is a creative hub within a historic farmstead, offering a distinctive setting for artistic exploration and cultural exchange. At ORTO, we believe in the power of artistic exchange and the importance of reconnecting with the land. Here, you’ll find a peaceful retreat designed for inspiration and collaboration, surrounded by lush gardens, diverse wildlife, and the tranquil rhythms of nature.

ORTO is preparing to welcome its first cohort of artists in 2025, hosting up to 10 residents for a minimum of 3 weeks of stay. Open to all mediums and artistic disciplines, ORTO is a space for exploration, creation, and cultural exchange, with a focus on sustainability, community, and connection to the land. We welcome everyone to apply and join our diverse, inclusive community for a transformative creative experience.
