Identity is not static—it shifts, evolves, and is shaped by culture, history, and personal experience. In an era of rapid transformation, from digital revolutions to migration and environmental change, artists play a critical role in interpreting and redefining identity.
Evolving Identities, the theme for Studio 88’s 2025 artist residency, invites artists across disciplines to examine the forces that shape identity—personal, collective, cultural, and beyond. This residency provides a reflective and experimental space for creators to explore identity as a fluid, ever-changing construct, influenced by memory, place, heritage, technology, and socio-political landscapes.
