Oo La Lab, a leader in bespoke perfumery, is launching its inaugural Artist-in-Residence program in Singapore and Dubai from February 10 to May 10, 2025.
This initiative invites artists, influencers, and art students passionate about scent and cultural storytelling to explore the intersection of art and olfactory experiences. 

What You Will Get:

• Creative Freedom: You’ll have access to our studio and resources to create unique scent-inspired artworks, fragrances, or installations. This is your opportunity to experiment with fragrance as an art form and explore new dimensions of olfactory creativity.
• Exposure & Platform: Your work will be featured in our stores, across our social media channels, and during special events or workshops—giving you exposure to our audience of scent enthusiasts, creatives, and brand collaborators.
• Stipend & Materials: A monthly financial stipend and full access to our fragrance materials, vessels, and production tools will be provided to support your creative process.
• Mentorship: You’ll have the chance to collaborate with our in-house scent artists and storytellers, gaining insights into the intersection of art, culture, and chemistry.
• Exhibition Opportunity: At the end of the residency, you’ll host a solo exhibition of your work inside Oo La Lab, which could include an event or workshop of your design, engaging our community in your creative journey.

What We Expect:

• Fresh Creative Perspectives: We’re looking for artists who can bring new energy, bold ideas, and innovative storytelling to the lab, exploring themes that align with our brand’s ethos—such as cultural narratives, sensory storytelling, or social impact.
• Collaborative Spirit: You’ll work alongside our team to co-create immersive experiences, experimental products, and unique campaigns that blend your artistic touch with the world of fragrance.
• Social Media Content: As part of the residency, we expect regular content creation (e.g., behind-the-scenes videos, social media takeovers, or blog posts) to document your journey, connect with our community, and share your evolving ideas.
• Alignment with Our Values: We’re looking for individuals who have a passion for sensory experiences, sustainability, and cultural storytelling.

Ideal Candidate Skills & Abilities:

• Artistic Talent: You should have a strong foundation in an artistic discipline—be it visual arts, design, photography, or mixed media—with a portfolio showcasing your creativity.
• Storytelling Ability: You should be able to translate concepts into engaging narratives, whether through visuals, written content, or experiential designs.
• Interest in Scent & Culture: While prior experience with fragrance is not necessary, applicants should have a strong foundation in an artistic discipline, such as visual arts, design, photography, or mixed media. A portfolio showcasing creativity is required.
• Social Media Savvy: Ability to create engaging content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) is a plus, as part of the residency involves sharing your creative journey.
• Age: There is no specific age requirement mentioned; however, candidates should be mature enough to engage in a professional environment.
• Nationality: There are no nationality restrictions, but candidates must be based and have the right to work in either Singapore or Dubai. Visa sponsorship and relocation support will not be provided.
• Particular Medium or Industry: The program targets individuals working in visual arts or related fields who are interested in exploring scent as a medium for artistic expression.

Duration & Commitment:

• Residency Period: The residency will run for 3 months from Fenruary 10, 2025 to May 10, 2025, with the option for extension based on mutual interest and project scope.
• Time Commitment: We expect a minimum of 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the residency, including creative production, collaborative sessions, and community engagement events.
