Art Start's Emerging Artists Residency (Milwaukee, WI)

Art Start’s Emerging Artist Residency (EAR) is a 7-8 month program wherein creatives ages 16-24* years with innate artistic talent explore, learn, and grow into their own place in the creative arts industries. Emerging Artists develop creatively, personally, and professionally via workshops, special arts and networking opportunities, career-centered travel, community studio time, and more. Emerging Artists are eligible to earn a weekly stipend for their dedication to the program and full participation in residency activities, including showcasing their portfolio during Art Start's Annual Spring Retrospective in April 2026.

Schedule

• Weekly on Tuesdays & Wednesdays 4:30pm-7:00pm CT
• Monthly Art Start Creative Sessions (once a month, dates TBD)
• End of program Spring Retrospective (Friday, April 17, 2026)

Eligibility

• Artists of all creative backgrounds
• Between 16 - 24 years of age
• Local in Milwaukee (ability to be in person at 316 N Milwaukee St, Suite #280, Milwaukee, WI 53202)

*Due to the rigorous nature of EAR, motivated applicants ages 16-17 are encouraged to apply but must meet certain qualifications to be considered eligible for the Art Start Emerging Artist Residency.
