Stage Manager Intensive 2025

Overview  

This program provides early-career stage managers with the opportunity to enhance their skills under the guidance of professional mentors. Expand your stage management toolkit through hands-on experience in prompt script creation, script analysis, and effective communication. Gain practical experience supporting Kohkom’s premiere production of Babushka, as an assistant stage manager during the program. 

New Play Actor Training 2025

Overview  

New Play Actor Training provides an opportunity for actors to develop and implement the skills needed to meaningfully workshop new theatre. Participants will engage with a diverse list of texts at various stages of development under the tutelage of guest directors and playwrights. Actors will work on text analysis, be provided with a technical toolkit to assist with cold reading, and practice providing articulate and helpful feedback to creators.

Indigenous Fashion Runway Residency 2025

Overview  

The three-week Indigenous Fashion Runway Residency offers four Indigenous fashion designers the opportunity to build their portfolios and showcase their runway work in a professional setting.

Participants will be supported by the faculty and Banff Centre’s production team as they explore working with models, photography, and fashion show preparation. This residency is a balance of exploration and self-directed preparation for the runway to showcase 6-8 looks.

Designers may apply with up to 2 collaborators. 

Aknumustiǂis: Ecological Engagement Through the Seasons 2025

The five-week hybrid residency will engage 12 visual artists whose artistic practice includes land-based themes, environmental sustainability, Indigenous narratives of the land, and/or use of natural materials.

Artists can apply with a personal project to explore, experiment and research, or complete their final project work. The online portion equips artists to arrive on campus ready to create in a supportive environment with access to a studio and Visual Arts facilities. The residency features workshops, on-the-land engagement, faculty guidance, knowledge exchange centered on integrating Indigenous ways of knowing into the artistic process and the opportunity to showcase works at Open Studios.

Art of Piano 2025

Overview  

Twenty selected participants will have the unique opportunity to study with world-class piano faculty, engage meaningfully with both mentors and peers, and practice in the inspiring setting of the Banff Centre, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

Art of the Piano seeks well-rounded, advanced pianists who are confident in public speaking and eager to embrace and draw inspiration from their natural surroundings.

Audio Engineer: Soundweavings 2025

Overview

The Audio Engineer professional training program is a continuing education opportunity designed for emerging recording engineers with mature artistic insight, advanced practical skills, and significant professional experience or a high level of professional training. Learning objectives have been integrated into artistic residency programs, inviting exciting opportunities for collaboration and connection in this redeveloped applied-learning program.
