CourCommune was created in 2012, 100 kilometres south of Paris. The end of 2016 saw the installation of CourCommune in a 19th-century building which was once the village shop. A studio measuring 80 square meters, a three-bedroom apartment and a garden welcome artists-in-residence from spring to fall.

We ask that the artists pay 500€/month to stay in the shared apt (3 artists maximum). Included in that price are the studio space, equipped with two lithographic presses, and the communal garden, which are available for their use. The artists in residence are welcome to participate in all of the activities that take place in our space. We also introduce them to local artists and cultural organizations. The artists are welcome to present work during their stay, but the residence is not production oriented.

CourCommune is a not-for-profit organization made up of individual and group members, as well as educational facilities. Administrative and artistic decisions are made by the President of the Board of Directors (a choreographer and professor of dance history) and the Artistic Director (an architect and visual artist).

We have partnerships with cultural institutions in the region, including the Jardin Bourdelle and the regional library.
