Guest Room: Christiane Monarchi & Eva Eicker

Guest Room is dedicated to igniting collaboration. Christiane Monarchi, the founding co-editor of Hapax Magazine and founding editor of Photomonitor, is teaming up with curator Eva Eicker, an expert focusing on social and cultural issues for critical engagement with contemporary photography.

For this edition of Guest Room, they have crafted the guiding framework: "Wortbildsalat / word-image-salad." Christiane Monarchi and Eva Eicker extend an invitation to create a communal poem, whose image-text interplay evolves throughout the 15 days of the online curation.

Münchner Kammerspiele x Der Greif: “Auf nach Woanders / Off to Elsewhere”

Münchner Kammerspiele x Der Greif: “Auf nach Woanders / Off to Elsewhere” is an opportunity brought to you by Der Greif in collaboration with the contemporary theater Münchner Kammerspiele.

Guest Room: Boaz Levin & Sophia Greiff

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Boaz Levin and Sophia Greiff, esteemed curators and co-heads of programming at C/O Berlin, have partnered to craft the next theme for your submissions: “The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls”.

"The sea is the subject of myths and utopias, a place of longing, sublimity and fascination, but also of fear and uncertainty. Oceans serve as the setting for complex cultural, socio-political and ecological challenges, ranging from migration movements and sea rescue to trade routes, the extraction of natural resources, and the unavoidable consequences of climate change. We invite you to share your images and stories, your dreams and anxieties about the forces of the elements and the depths and secrets of the sea."

Der Greif - Issue 17 by Torbjørn Rødland

Der Greif has invited Torbjørn Rødland to guest-edit Issue 17 with the theme; “One Day Soon.” The world is still out there. Our job, now as always, is to find our places in it. A way through it.

Rødland wants to see the medium of photography opening up and pushed forward in response to the rise of generative AI; beyond conceptualism and critical appropriation, towards a grounded but updated mysticism.

How are you as photographers and image makers responding to these immense technological and cultural shifts? Speculate about the scope and the impact of the threshold period we’re currently in. What are you thirsty for now?
