Guest Room: Nadine Henrich & William Camargo

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Nadine Isabelle Henrich, Curator of the House of Photography at the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg, has decided to team up with photo-based artist and founder of Latinx Diaspora Archives, William Camargo. Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: “Poetics of Counter-Archives”.

Guest Room: Simon Baker & Aden Vincendeau

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Simon Baker, Director of the MEP (Maison Européene de la Photographie, Paris), is teaming up with his colleague Aden Vincendeau.

Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: "Happy accidents: embracing mistakes".

Der Greif X Grisebach: “New Positions”

 

Introducing "Der Greif X Grisebach: New Positions," a unique opportunity presented by Der Greif in partnership with the esteemed art auction house, Grisebach. Grisebach is renowned for showcasing the works of today's international photographic avant-garde, and we're thrilled to offer you the chance to have your own image featured in their upcoming photography auction. This open call ends on November 16 and will curate a selection of images to provide contemporary visual responses to the historical pieces in Grisebach's January 2024 auction.

Guest Room: Damarice Amao & Matthias Pfaller

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Damarice Amao, associate curator for photography at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, has decided to team up with photography historian and curator Matthias Pfaller. Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: “Empathy”.

"We are looking for work that explores current politics and poetics of relation, among and across different communities, species, and the environment."

Guest Room: Daniel Boetker-Smith

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Daniel Boetker-Smith, Director of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Photography, has decided to collaborate with photo editor, curator, and writer Tanvi Mishra, who has recently curated the Louis Roederer Discovery Award for the 2023 edition of Rencontres d'Arles. Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: "(make) belief".

"We would like to look at submissions that explore the gap in meaning-making within the image(s) – when we make photographs, what constructions do we deploy? When we piece stories together, what are the slippages?
Despite photography’s historically contentious relationship with evidence, we find the medium continuing to be used to foreground various ‘truths’.

Guest Room: Varun Gupta

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Varun Gupta, Director of the Chennai Photo Biennale in India, is teaming up with one of his personal mentors, Arpan Mukherjee. He is one of the nation's leading researchers of historical photography processes and co-founded Studio Goppo, a photography research studio. Together, Varun Gupta and Arpan Mukherjee have developed the following theme for your submissions: "Metamorphosis".
