Flora Fiction Literary Magazine Winter 2024 - SUMBIT FOR FREE

This winter has been colder than most, biting and unrelenting, a season that settles deep in your bones. This season, we call you to a world of frost and silence. “Midnight Frost” is winter’s stillness, sharp and cold. Frost etches windows, the air snaps with the weight of ice, and moonlight turns the ordinary strange.

This is for those who see stories in the cold and hear whispers in the quiet. For poets who feel the ache of the frost and artists who find beauty in the bare and frozen. We want work that shows winter’s truth, harsh and haunting.

Send us stories that chill and linger, poems that breathe life into the cold, and art that captures winter’s fierce beauty. Midnight Frost beckons, its chill whispering through the silence. The frost lingers, waiting for you.

Flora Fiction Literary Magazine Fall 2024

For Fall 2024, Flora Fiction brings you into the night, into the silence where shadows move, and something stirs just out of sight. "Whispers in the Dark" is a call to those who feel the pull of the unknown, who listen closely when others turn away. The stories waiting in the dark are the ones we don’t speak of in daylight, the ones that linger in our minds long after the light fades.

Open Call - Free Submissions to Flora Fiction Fall 2023

Life is a series of cycles - some natural, some societal, and some deeply personal. Our Fall 2023 theme, "Breaking and Creating Cycles," invites you to explore the moments of rupture and renewal, the instances when the old gives way to the new. These cycles can be on a grand scale, such as societal revolutions and cultural transformations, or on a more intimate level, like personal growth and self-discovery.

"Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it." -Mark Twain

When you think of having courage, or being courageous, do you think of yourself? Who do you think of? We all have courage. We have courage to put ourselves out there, and whether or not people will accept us is not up to us. We have courage to put our art out there, even if no one will ever see it.
