Diversity Lives Here: Representation Through Art

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for Monmouth University’s new art exhibit, Diversity Lives Here: Representation Through Art.

The United States is more racially and ethnically diverse than ever before. Subsequently, higher education institutions are now comprised of a more diverse community. Despite an increasingly more diverse population, many colleges and universities (especially predominantly white institutions) have physical spaces that do not represent their own communities. Monmouth University is committed to change! We have dedicated spaces to display jury-selected artwork in every academic building to ensure everyone in the Monmouth University community will see themselves represented and celebrated within our halls.

Call for Playwrights and Storytellers

The June Bingham New Playwright Commission applications are now open and will close at 11:59 pm EST on 1/31/2023. Due to the volume of submissions, no deadline extensions or late applications will be accepted.

Call for Musical Theatre Submissions

Live & In Color is looking for playwrights, composers, and lyricists of color and/or other underrepresented communities interested in developing their new musical. The selected musical submission will have a one-week workshop in the fall at The Bingham Camp in Salem, Connecticut culminating in a staged presentation to an invited audience. Submission requirements can be found below. Submissions will close at 11:59pm EST on 2/15/2023.  For any questions email Dennis Corsi at dennis@liveandincolor.org.

Connect

Arts at CERN and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia welcome proposals for a new residency opportunity of the Connect collaboration framework, which promotes the dialogue between artists and scientists within the Laboratory’s context.

The Connect residency calls for artists and collectives from or based in Switzerland with distinct interest in an interdisciplinary approach and strong motivation for learning more about the modes of scientific thinking and fundamental science. Connect invites proposals from artists working across visual arts, music, literature, performing arts, design, and interactive media.
