Due to unforseen circumstances we now have one last minute opening for the July TRACTOR programme; thus we offer -30% discount on the residency fee

TRACTOR programme is for all those creative minds who either wish to change their environment for a couple of weeks and find inspiration in a new surrounding or simple need undisturbed time to develop or finish up a body of work.

This self-directed creative programme offers you the luxury of time and the needed freedom to perform a new body of work, research innovative ideas or just experiment with different techniques or modes of production.

Test” your ideas within a larger frame than your own studio, research, share skills, and knowledge, interact or collaborate in a vibrant multidisciplinary environment free from constraint, harshness or formality.

Exhibit and/or share your practice within an artists’ talk.

Viridian Artists presents The 30th Annual International Juried Exhibition July 16-August 10, 2019

Viridian Artists is proud to present:
The 30th Annual International Juried Exhibition

Entry Fee: Ends June 13, 2019 (11:59pm) =  $45/ 3 works, $5 each additional work. 

Juror: Vernita Nemec, independent curator in New York City and the Director of Viridian Artists.  As an artist herself, Vernita was a pioneer of the downtown art scene. She has nurtured and promoted work by under known artist throughout her career.
Previously, Nemec served as Director of Artists Talk On Art, interviewing art world luminaries, and as an independent curator at Henry Street Settlement Art Center. She has been curating extensive groups exhibitions of art from recycled materials and trash, entitled “Art from Detritus” for which she received a Kaufmann Foundation Grant  and a Puffin Foundation Grant.

Cash Awards For !st, 2nd and 3rd Prize Winners: All winners will be part of a group show in our Chelsea gallery space, and also will be listed on Viridian's website.

The show will be exhibited from July 16-August 10, 2019, with an opening reception on Thursday, July 18th, 6-8pm

Size and Specifications:

The exhibition will consist of two-dimensional and three- dimensional art works in all media. The size limitation for wall-hung work is 60 inches high by 60 inches wide (including frame.) Free-standing work may not exceed 30 inches wide by 30 inches deep by 96 inches high. Modular work or installations may be larger.

Designregio Kortrijk is looking for 3 highly motivated and recently graduated designer-makers or creative artists to join in a regional residency programme in Kortrijk, Belgium. The Designers in Residence Programme Kortrijk is a 3-month full time working residency from September to December 2019.

 

Designregio Kortrijk provides for the selected Designers in Residence Kortrijk:

This year's theme is: The Future of Domesticity
Exploring new ways of designing space in order to tackle common problems that many experience in our new urban realities. Working with a small footprint in mind, answering the challenges in a way that combines design knowledge with experience and fun. 
Designregio Kortrijk invites 3 young designers to develop an experimental concept for the Future of Domesticity, through confrontation between citizens, society, entrepreneurs and education in regions such as Kortrijk. The compactness of this region is both a benefit and a challenge. 

During the Kortrijk Creativity Week from 23-27 October 2019 the Designers in Residence Kortrijk will get the opportunity to show their research and on-going progress to the audience.

This artist residency aims to look closely to art practice and theory  as events that not only occur in galleries, museums or any other exhibition space, rather on the street, on the roads we commute every day and even where we live. That is why we will be looking to the relationship of space, the rural and our environment through our different perspectives, so we recognize and experiment with the new terrain thus to develop a critic relations as sensible with it.
We will look at different art pieces and art practices, we will also do an excersice of Recollection / Extraction / and Reuse on site, to finally create and purpose a collective piece on site.

Call for Exhibitors: ARTbound's Summer Show 2019 @ Legacy Art Gallery

Join us this June for our 'Summer Show 2019' at Legacy Arts Gallery in Todmorden Village! The theme for this exhibition is 'RADIANT'.

Our collaborations with Legacy Arts have always been a wonderful success. In the past, we've left our exhibitions at this venue 'open'. However, to make a minor change, we're sprucing up the show by adding a one-word theme!

The one-word theme for our 'Summer Show 2019' this June, is 'RADIANT'

We're inviting exhibitors to join us by submitting their brightest, most colourful, vibrant creations in form of original art, photography, textiles and sculpture, anything that celebrates energy and life!

Preview arranged for: Sunday 2 June, 2-4pm with drinks and nibbles.

Annual Regional Juried Exhibition 2019

The Annual Regional Juried Exhibition is a juried show featuring the best of representational painting by New England artists who work in the realist tradition.

The exhibition will be on view in the historic President's Gallery at the Guild's 162 Newbury Street location from August 31 - September 28, 2019. The entire gallery has been renovated and features new furniture, carpets, and LED lighting. The President's Gallery also features a skylight to allow viewing of paintings in natural light.Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit where the great artists of the Boston School showed their work.
