Draw to Perform Residency – April/May 2019 – Open Call

The Draw to Perform residency programme for Drawing Performance practice.

 

What does the program offer?

The D2P Residency program is a unique opportunity for new and developing professional artists and art students to engage in the dynamic artistic discipline of drawing performance art. The program provides the foundation to develop drawing and performance skills and to translate creative practice into live action. This rigorous 15 days structured program of mentored residency includes one-on-one tutorials, workshops, intensive studio time, studio visits and artist talks by UKdrawing performance artists. The program is headed by artist and curator Ram Samocha, who is internationally acclaimed and the founder of Draw to Perform.

'The Sound of Colour' art exhibition

'The Sound of Colour’ is a music-inspired collaborative exhibition, in which we invite emerging artists to showcase with us for our first exhibition of 2019 at Creative Arts Hub in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

We're returning to the Creative Arts Hub in Mirfield, West Yorkshire to start 2019 with a creative bang! 

'The Sound of Colour' is our first exhibition of the year, set to feature an exciting collaboration of painting, print and photography works inspired by music! We're looking for creations based on portraits of celebrated musicians (living and deceased), as well as abstract works inspired by both modern and contemporary festivals, dance and music.

Exhibition dates: Sat 12 January - Sat 23 February 2019

Watercolors

J. Mane Gallery invites submissions for its Watercolors online juried art exhibition for the month of January 2019.  

“Watercolor is a medium that can be as demanding and temperamental as those who choose to paint with it. But it is a colorful and exciting medium all the same – well suited to describing the many moods of the subject, as well as those of the artist wielding the brush”. ~Jean Burman

For this competition, watercolor artists are encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of any subject.  The artwork can vary from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

St. Joseph Sculpture Walk-Call for Sculptors

The Allied Arts Council and the City of Saint Joseph, Missouri seek sculptures to be placed in Downtown Saint Joseph. Professional and amateur sculptors are invited to submit work for this one-year sculpture exhibition scheduled from June 2019-May 2020. Selected sculptors will receive a $500 honorarium and compete for up to $13,000 in cash prizes.

Urban Landscapes

J. Mane Gallery invites submissions for its Urban Landscape online juried art exhibition for the month of September 2018.  

Landscapes in art are about capturing spaces within our world.  Sometimes vast.  Sometimes microscopic.  

For this competition we want to see you take it to the streets and show us your best Urban Landscapes.  Artists are encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of the cities around them. The artwork can vary from realism to surrealism to abstraction, and all media are accepted, including 3-D. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

New Contest Themes at The A3 Review

The A3 Review is an international magazine that behaves like a map. Its themed monthly contests are brought to you by the folks who make Writing Maps. We believe in words and images, and love a combination of the two. We're looking for prose, poetry, graphic stories, photography, paintings, drawings, and other visual and word-based creations and various combinations of the above.

We welcome submissions from everywhere in the world.

Each month's two winning entries will appear in The A3 Review, a fold-out literary and art magazine published every six  months.
