Empirical Abstraction - Paintings / Drawings. Call for Entry

Paintings / Drawings

Please submit artworks executed in Suprematism, Cubism, Constructivism, Futurism, Bauhaus, Minimalism, Geometric Abstraction....

Abstract Art has firmly established itself in our lives as an expression of freedom from the concrete representation of objects. Artists use many ways to express their emotions, experiences, and ideas through lines, colors, geometrical forms, and textures. Relying on observations and sensations, they convey their thoughts and vision of the world around them.

Ortega y Gasset Projects is an artist-run curatorial collective and exhibition space founded in 2013 and located in Brooklyn, NY.

We are pleased to announce an Open Call for TWO Solo Exhibitions to open in September of 2021: one in the main gallery space at OyG and one in The Skirt, OyG's dedicated space for site-specific installations.

23rd International Open

Exhibition Description: Invitation to all female identified artists worldwide to submit artwork for this open exhibition. All themes, styles, and media will be considered. Artwork that explores or challenges conceptual and material boundaries is encouraged.

Don't Touch Your Face

Don’t Touch Your Face

So here we go, locked down and headed into the unknown. Nobody knows what the next hour holds right now. What we do know is that the creatives have a moment to capture and a story to tell. This show is currently planned to open in June. We are making this a long open call because we want you to capture this experience as it unfolds. Circumstances and information are going to be evolving or devolving on the fly and we want you to know, we are in it with you. One way or another, the show goes on.

This is an Open Call to ALL MEDIUMS and artists from ALL LOCATIONS.
