East End District: Navigation Boulevard Roundabout

Weingarten Art Group, on behalf of Houston’s East End District (EED), invites U.S.-based professional artists to submit qualifications for the design and fabrication of a landmark gateway sculpture at the Navigation Boulevard Roundabout. The permanent work will celebrate the East End’s cultural vibrancy, history, and community pride while serving as a highly visible icon for one of Houston’s most historic neighborhoods. As part of this commission, the selected artist will also serve as a mentor in the inaugural East End Artist Launchpad, a new mentorship initiative supporting emerging Houston artists.

The Gallery, the UK's largest public art exhibition, is a cultural institution without walls, redefining how art is seen. Selected works appear on thousands of digital screens and billboards across 55+ UK towns and cities. Over four seasons, it has amassed 200+ million views.

The Gallery Season 5 is proud to partner with the British Council for its UK/Brazil Season of Culture. The Gallery is inviting artists to make work in response to the theme: It’s Not Easy Being Green.

This nationwide community mural program is a celebration of communities across America and an important part of a new or newly transformed facility. Every mural is a unique, original artwork. NOW Art is a public art agency and we work with our clients to curate artworks and engage artists across the country. Today, community murals are featured in hundreds of locations, and original artworks are unveiled weekly in newly transformed facilities.

This opportunity is with NOW Art directly to be included in our pre-qualified directory of artists for mural commissions. To participate in this program and be selected we are considering artists who create compositions in the following styles: contemporary, street art, and traditional.

Curatorial theme:

What are the boundaries between public and private space?
Boundaries could be physical, such as borders between countries;  Boundaries also could be invisible, the world can appear so different from one to another. We all have different boundaries based on our various living experiences and cultural backgrounds. 

A boundary could be your skin or the clothes you wear, where keeping others out or hides your inner self.

Boundaries could be the disconnect between your thoughts and voice, the never ending sentence devoid of punctuation.
Rather than hold the boundaries of this space, we would like to hear the boundaries in your life.

Paint a mural live on the prestigious Exhibition Road in collaboration with Imperial College London!

Creativity and science will collide at the 2024 Great Exhibition Road Festival as one of London most famous roads will once again turn into a giant canvas.

We’re inviting 10 London based artists to each collaborate with a researcher from Imperial College London to create an artwork live over the weekend of the annual Great Exhibition Road Festival (15-16 June 2024) on Exhibition Road, South Kensington.
