Discover Nepal – A Land of Culture & Natural Beauty

Nestled between India and China, Nepal is a land of breathtaking landscapes, rich traditions, and diverse cultures. Home to the majestic Himalayas—including Mount Everest—Nepal offers everything from subtropical valleys with banana trees to alpine forests with grazing yaks. The country’s cultural heritage is just as vast, with centuries-old temples, vibrant festivals, and deep-rooted traditions.

Artist-in-Residence at Eltham College

The position of Artist-in-Residence is available as a one-year assignment for a working artist in any medium. The successful applicant will have access to studio space and use of the facilities within the Art Department, including an etching press, ceramics kilns, dark-room and other equipment.

The post holder is epected to contribute to curriculum and co-curricular Art, as well as the community work that takes place within our purpose-built gallery.

The Kathmandu International Artist-in-Residence (KIAR) program, run by Space A in Kathmandu, Nepal, offers immersive residencies for artists across a wide range of disciplines, including visual arts, performance, music, writing, and more. Space A is a significant contemporary art hub, promoting critical dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange among local and international artists. Its mission is to create a space for reflection, research, and experimentation in interdisciplinary contemporary art.

Nepal is the Best Value Destination to travel to. Nepal’s cultural landscape is every bit as diverse as its physical one. The spectacular Himalayas comprise the highest mountains on earth and boast a surreal landscape of snow-covered peaks sure to leave a powerful impression. The Himalayan country of Nepal, situated between India and China, offers some of the best access to these mountain peaks, where landscapes vary from subtropical valleys (complete with banana trees) to alpine forests (home to grazing yaks).

Call for Residency Applications at OpenBach

This summer 2024, participate in our residency program at OpenBach, a collaborative art space in Paris! 

OpenBach is transformed to welcome you: modular offices and a brightly-lit shared studio to work in on our first floor, materials at your disposal (papers, paints, markers...), and a communal kitchen. You’ll be able to work alongside other residents as well as our artists with permanent studios here, sharing ideas and even collaborating on greater projects. We welcome all forms of visual art whether it be photo, illustration, painting, comics, so long as it can be accommodated within the studio.
