Call for Creatives

Born out of the desire to foster cultural curiosity, Castle of our Skins is a concert and educational series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music. From classrooms to concert halls, Castle of our Skins invites exploration into ​Black heritage and culture, spotlighting both unsung and celebrated ​figures of past and present. 

Goals

  • To foster community and collaboration with and among diverse creatives.
  • To provide a platform for creatives to share their artistic practice.
  • To strengthen, expand, and challenge COOS in a collaborative, creative environment.
  • To increase and diversify COOS’s culturally enriching projects to the general public and social media/online communities.

Responsibilities

Dans i Blekinge are happy to announce that the applications for this year's residency are now open!

Date of Residence: August 3 - 23, 2020.

We offer two artist’s residence during a period of three weeks. Each residence refers to 1-4 people.  

Location: Ronneby municipality, in eastern Blekinge.

The application is open to all professional dance and performing artists. We welcome new graduates as well as experienced artists, national and international. Those with connection to Blekinge are prioritized. In the selection process, greater emphasis is placed on the artistic idea and method, rather than experience.

APPLY FOR Your Move Modern Dance Festival 2019: Now accepting Submissions
Your Move's 2019 season will be held at The Loew's Theater in Jersey City: November 13th through November 17th 2019. Selected choreographers will receive a $100 stipend, photos of their performance and two performance slots over the four shows. Applications are due no later than June 9, 2019 by midnight EST and cost $20. Late submissions will be accepted until June 14, 2019 by midnight EST for a fee of $30. Accepted choreographers will be notified by early-July. Choreographers are invited to submit one movement-based piece (no more than 10 minutes in length) for consideration. 

Artist Lock In

The Artist Lock In, now in its fifth year, is the flagship residency produced by ArtHouse Jersey in partnership with WildWorks.

 

We are currently seeking artists from all backgrounds and disciplines to apply for this inspiring experience. Facilitated by Sue Hill (Wildworks, Eden Project), artists will spend 10 days living and working together, learning from each other’s practice and responding to the natural environment.
