The call for artists of the 13thArte Laguna Prize has officially opened. Arte Laguna Prize is the international art contest that has been promoting contemporary art for thirteen years, collecting thousands of applications from artists from all over the world, selected by a jury of excellence for the great exhibition in March in the evocative spaces of the Arsenale of Venice. In addition, the participants have the chance to win several awards in collaboration with companies, foundations, galleries, including cash prizes.

ArtWorks Open 2018 Prize Show

ArtWorks Open 2018 is selected by Tai Shani and Emma Talbot. The open prizewinning show is now in its 10th year. Submissions are welcome from artists in UK and Europe. The selectors will award £1,000 1st Prize and Solo Show, £500 2nd Prize and Solo Show, plus two six week residencies. We all work with numbers, it cannot be helped, we are numerous beings! But what happens when artists consciously dive into the world of digits? What happens to the psyche and reality when numbers become a prominent point of focus? What do we have to learn from numbers appearing in nature, the golden ratio and Fibonacci.

What do numbers have to tell us on the psychological, mythical and theological planes? How can working with numbers help us to be more creative? What can numbers help us to uncover? What happens when art becomes tied up in numbers? Is there a pattern in the universe? What relevance do numbers play in your life? Are you guided by numbers?
