ASLD Color Scheme Residency

ASLD's Color Scheme Residency was born of the recognition that many artists have historically been excluded from formal art spaces, including artist residencies. Building on this knowledge, ASLD’s Color Scheme Residency seeks to take an active role in creating a Colorado arts community that uplifts and engages with historically underrepresented communities. Selected artists will be reflective of the arts community at large and open to participating in activities (workshops, exhibits, community conversations) that address specific themes and issues affecting historically underrepresented artists and communities. Each 7-month-long residency offers the artist access to dedicated 900 sq. ft.

April 2026 - Residency Available in Colombia

The artist residency program (AIR) is designed for visual artists, musicians, writers, architects, clay artists, performers, and other makers. It is a self-directed residency, where artists have full access to studio spaces of all kinds (visual art, music, movement, writing, etc.) throughout the vast and beautiful campus that includes a natural park in process of about 230 acres. Artists are given the space, freedom, and encouragement to explore and experiment with their work.

bildingship

“bildingship” is a working fellowship for young artists aged up to 31 years, to use bilding as space for their own artistic work as well as actively engaging in the regular workshop programme for 4 months (prolongation to 9 months is possible), including part-time employment (500€ per month). The aim is to convey the concept and working methods of bilding to the artists, while at the same time, imparting artistic processes directly to the children and adolescents based on the artists on-site work, to establish mutual ties and to promote and expand international discourse in the field of art and cultural mediation with young people, based on the practical experiences gained at bilding.

medienfrische

The Tyrolean Bschlaber Valley lies at an altitude of 1,400 meters and is one of the most remote places in Austria. Today, fewer than 90 people live there, with an aging population and rural exodus taking their toll on the region. For the fifth time, medienfrische is taking place there over 21 days. medienfrische is a contemporary art and media festival that focuses on current developments. The landscape and the completely different way of organizing everyday life in the valley require new and unconventional ways of thinking and ideas, as well as a questioning of conventional ways of working and living.
