Traces / Huellas Residency Programme

The trace is an ambivalent form of inscription: it marks the presence of what once was and, at the same time, signals its absence. It is testimony and emptiness, memory and projection. From this tension, the territory presents itself as a space where human presence, natural processes and collective imaginaries are in constant dialogue. These residencies are framed within the concepts of body, territory and spatiality, understood as central axes of research and creation. In this edition, we would like to place special emphasis on the trace as a notion that cuts across these frameworks, inviting participants to explore it from multiple dimensions.

Solitary Retreat in the Nevada Desert

Montello Foundation is a foundation dedicated to support artists who foster our understanding of nature, its fragility and our need to protect it.

The Montello Foundation provides a solitary retreat where artists can experience the vastness of a desert landscape from a safe building, a unique space for inspiration and creation, a place that provides a shield from distractions in the solitude of the desert.

The building contains a "cabin" part with running water and electricity and a 20 x 20 ft studio with large windows facing North.

The retreat is the first Quiet Artist Retreat certified by Quiet Parks International.

Open Call 2024 First Semester – Cruce, Space for Transformation last places

Cruce, Space for Transformation is an initiative intended for professionals who need to disconnect from their daily rhythms, those who need a space to create, hold workshops, events or exhibitions, focus on analysis and dissemination of their work; or just make a temporary withdrawal.

Surrounded by nature, the rural environment of Blanca allows one to enter the traditions and customs of a town in southern Spain, as well as being in coexistence with an artistic community.
Cruce is a program designed to bring together resources, spaces and knowledge. It facilitates the encounter between people of different origins, trajectories and ideas, with the common interest of being part of a temporary and caring community and of sharing experiences and knowledge.
