Call for Artists: Crocker Art Museum Art Auction Season 2024

Artists from Sacramento and beyond are encouraged to submit their work to the 2024 Art Auction Season to help support the Crocker Art Museum’s exhibitions and community-building programs and classes. We hope you will be one of these artists! Your contribution to this annual fundraiser directly benefits the thousands of children, families, and adults served by the Museum every year.

Artists may choose to submit artwork to the Art Auction for consideration, donate a work to Big Names, Small Art (BNSA), or both! All entries for Art Auction and BNSA must be submitted online through their respective forms. Art submission forms that are emailed or sent through the mail will not be accepted.

Der Greif X Grisebach: “New Positions”

 

Introducing "Der Greif X Grisebach: New Positions," a unique opportunity presented by Der Greif in partnership with the esteemed art auction house, Grisebach. Grisebach is renowned for showcasing the works of today's international photographic avant-garde, and we're thrilled to offer you the chance to have your own image featured in their upcoming photography auction. This open call ends on November 16 and will curate a selection of images to provide contemporary visual responses to the historical pieces in Grisebach's January 2024 auction.

Sophie's Postcard for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

#sophiespostcard Call for artists is now open - Artworks will be added to sophiespostcard.com and shared on social media as they arrive.

St Richard’s Catholic College’s postcard-sized art fundraising sale, #sophiespostcard is taking place for the third time during Summer 2022. Since 2018, the school has raised over £46,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. #sophiespostcard is in memory of former pupil, Sophie Maria Taylor, who was cared for by The Royal Marsden but lost her life to cancer on 5th April 2017.

#SophiesPostcard is a secret auction consisting of original postcard-sized artworks, made and donated by professional artists, designers and illustrators, plus up-and-coming artists from St Richard’s Catholic College and the general public.

The fundraiser was set up in memory of Sophie Maria Taylor, a former pupil of St Richard’s Catholic College, and has raised over £46,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity since 2018.

The call for artists opens on 1 Mar 2022, with the deadline for artwork to arrive by 10 June 2022. The auction goes live on eBay on 30 June and ends on 9 Jul 2022.

The Crocker Art Museum is looking for artists to submit works for the upcoming Art Auction Season -- a highly anticipated Sacramento tradition. Last year’s virtual and in-person auctions drew an incredible audience of more than 3 million viewers and 1,000+ bidders from around the world. This can be attributed to the high-quality art contributed by regionally and nationally recognized artists and using an online platform that reaches the broadest possible audience.
