Fanzineist Vienna – Online Edition, which brings together small press and independent publishers, has the mission to make zines and art books accessible through exhibitions, workshops, concerts, screenings and talks and introduce the viewer to the culture of self-publishing.

Fanzineist is a fair that welcomes artists, publishers and other creative people to share their stories, knowledge, love of zines and art books.

LIVING TOGETHER / OPEN CALL FOR COMICS PROJECTS

Now into its second year, the Comic Art Europe project is preparing to launch a second call for « comics » projects, again the only constraint is the use of the comics medium and the respect of the theme: Living together.
Diversity enhances society. Learning about other cultures, being exposed to different values and influences is an enriching experience that broadens the mind and promotes tolerance and the appreciation of difference.

This year, Comic Art Europe is asking comics artists to reflect in their own way on "living together" in the modern world. Through true stories or fictional creations, comic book artists are invited to present projects that illustrate their interpretation of "living together" today.

Group Residency PLACE, PEOPLE and TIME: PUBLISHING AS AN ARTISTIC PRACTICE

The one-week residency will take place in Collemacchia, in Italy’s Molise region, home to The Museum of Loss and Renewal.

The residency dates are: 23 – 29 July 2022.
The deadline for applications is 14 March 2022 (midnight CET).

This Group Residency has been devised by The Museum of Loss and Renewal in partnership with Amsterdam-based The Future / The Future Publishing and Printing. It is offered for creative practitioners working with printed matter and publishing as an artistic practice and for those who have a strong interest in this area.

9 places are available on this residency. The minimum number of participants is 6.

The Land is a Library

The land and its animal inhabitants have always been integral to the creation of books: parchment produced from the skin of calves, tree pulp for paper, vegetable charcoal into ink... Initiated in November 2012 by Aperture Foundation and Paris Photo, the Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards celebrate the photobook’s contribution to the evolving narrative of photography, with three major categories: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalogue of the Year.

What winners receive

The First PhotoBook Prize
A $10,000 prize will be awarded to the photographer(s)/artist(s) whose first finished, publicly available photobook is judged to be the best of the year. Twenty books from this category will be selected for the shortlist, presented to the Jury for the final selection and exhibited during Paris Photo.
