Call for Artists - Solo Exhibition in NYC

Exhibition Dates: May 10-30, 2020

Dacia Gallery invites emerging and established artists to submit artwork for an opportunity to have a Solo Exhibition at Dacia Gallery in NYC. We are actively searching for new talented artists in all media and styles to work with, exhibit and represent. If you are looking for gallery representation and to have a Solo Exhibition in New York City, submit your art that we may discover your compelling work and present it to the public, gallery directors, curators and collectors. The gallery will advertise and promote the selected artist for the exhibition and host a formal Opening Reception for the exhibition, including an Artist Talk during the reception. We look forward to discovering your artwork.

DECAY CORROSION RUST

There are new shiny things all around us, but are they as interesting as an old rusted car, peeling paint on a run down building, or half fallen walls in a dilapidated castle.  There is amazing beauty in the decayed, the corroded, the rusted... making those images more compelling and interesting than those of readily available brand new items!

Consider the amazing textures and colors in an abandoned, dilapidated factory, the rust on an old bike, contrasting plaster and lathing on a corroded wall and the myriad of possible captures in a junkyard.  Neighborhoods, disparagingly called "run down", are treasure troves of "decayed" tumble down houses, "corroded" discarded toys, "rusted" cars, trash cans and so on.

“Water” International Call - Art & Literature Journal - Deadline August 31, 2019

| Theme:

Water nourishes, cleanses, and renews. A drop of water can save a life. A torrent of water can destroy it. Water moves along the path of least resistance, yet can carve mountains. It can take the form of solid, liquid, and vapour. The meanings of water run deep across cultures and time, as seen in rituals, myths, and modern narratives. Reveal your visions of WATER.

| Eligible Submissions:

Entries may include 2- and 3-dimensional media, such as paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, installations, ceramics, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, photos of performance art, fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 900 words). Submissions must be the original work of the applicant(s). Apply using the online form.
