Eligibility:

The Contemporary Art Modern Project (CAMP) is a Miami-based gallery and contemporary art platform delivering art projects, creating connections between art and the public, building the young collectors' inventory, and aiding both emerging and established artists in their careers.

The CAMP is launching a biannual digital magazine, wanting to carve out a thoughtful and honest space for art and conversation. We aim to extend our disruptive ethos, shying away from the exploitative practices of the global art industry, to honor the idea that art is intentional.

We are looking for poets and creative writers to include in our inaugural June 2021 issue and round out our vision of a creative platform that is of service to artists at all points in their careers. The theme for the issue and written content is “art is intentional.”

To be considered, we ask that you email the following to CAMP Creatives Maria Gabriela Di Giammarco and Brianna Luz Fernandez

Your work: poetry or creative writing, 100–500 words.

CV: no pressure, it’s just so we can get an idea of your history

Call for Writers - Dialogue Only Contest (up to 250 words)

Share

Country:

Eligibility:

Who here has ever skimmed over rich detailed paragraphs of description scrambling to find the next section of dialogue?

Yup! Guilty.

Well written dialogue can move your story forward more effectively than pages of narrative.

The Dialogue Only Contest is an opportunity to create a clear and compelling story using nothing but dialogue.

Your entry can be up to 250 words. Even the smallest words add to the word-count (we believe in the power of the little guys) and contrractions count as one word (because working together makes us better!)

You may have as many characters as you choose, but the dialogue must stand on its own without any description, gestures, narration, or dialogue tags (i.e. he/she/they said).

For this contest grammar is secondary and your entry does not have to follow standard rules for writing dialogue.

Prize summary:
up to $200 cash
Prizes Details:
  • 1st place wins $200 cash and a book from one of our judges in your chosen format.
  • 2nd place wins $100 cash.

Eligibility:

Real Lives Multicultural Association is inviting visual artists, filmmakers, photographers, writers, poets, artisans to apply for the

Peruvian Amazon Storytelling Workshop June 24th to July 04th 2020

For 10 days, 15 passionate writers, artists and filmmakers will be submerged in the density of the Peruvian Amazonas and the lives of the local Shawi. Guided by a diverse Team of acclaimed international creatives and Peruvian indigenous leaders, participants will be exposed to the raw nature of the rainforest, conflicting forces impacting indigenous communities and sustainable activities to address climate change.

Each participant will develop a short provocation/artwork under the guidance and supervision of the Team. Unlike other workshops, the local inhabitants will not be mere characters in these stories but will serve as mentors, project collaborators and cultural mediators. The process of creation will require some form of partnership between local and international storytellers in defining, style, method, message and culture.

The workshop will take place in various setting including the urban river-based culture of Iquitos, the tropical rainforest surroundings of the Allpahuayo Mishana Reserve, and the facilities of Formabiap’s indigenous bi-lingual education centre at Zúngarococha.
