Sophie's Postcard for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

St Richard’s Catholic College’s postcard-sized art fundraising sale, #sophiespostcard is taking place for the third time during Summer 2022. Since 2018, the school has raised over £46,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. #sophiespostcard is in memory of former pupil, Sophie Maria Taylor, who was cared for by The Royal Marsden but lost her life to cancer on 5th April 2017.

We are now accepting submissions for our Virtual Exhibition "BLANKWALLS'

A competition to Provide aid for families fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.

100% of submission fees will be donated to DEC Disasters Emergency Committee UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN APPEAL http://dec.org.uk/

Any artist from any background can submit any of their work. There is no charge to submit your application, please feel free to share your work with us. A small fee (USD33) is applied per artist once they have been selected for the exhibition.

The team will review all applications and the selected work will be announced early April 2022.

#SophiesPostcard is a secret auction consisting of original postcard-sized artworks, made and donated by professional artists, designers and illustrators, plus up-and-coming artists from St Richard’s Catholic College and the general public.

The fundraiser was set up in memory of Sophie Maria Taylor, a former pupil of St Richard’s Catholic College, and has raised over £46,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity since 2018.

The call for artists opens on 1 Mar 2022, with the deadline for artwork to arrive by 10 June 2022. The auction goes live on eBay on 30 June and ends on 9 Jul 2022.

Brixton Art Prize

Brixton Art Prize is a brand new and inclusive art competition.

The prize is based from Brixton, a well loved south London district with a rich and meaningful history, but is open internationally for applicants anywhere. We want to use the beautiful cultural hub of Brixton as a base to showcase art from around the world - we welcome those from all walks of life to enter and feel united through art.

We also welcome art of all and any media, from photography and painting to sculpture and installation. This is an art competition in its broadest form.

In 2018, St Richard's Catholic College, raised almost £15,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in memory of former pupil, Sophie Maria Taylor, who died in April 2017.  Celebrities, renowned artists – including Sir Quentin Blake, Liz Pichon, Thomas Taylor and
Bob & Roberta Smith – pupils, parents, staff and accomplished local artists were among those to contribute wonderful art work to the Secret Postcard auction, and more than 570 original postcards were auctioned on eBay.
