Moving Body Festival #6 Critical Moves! OPEN CALL 2021

Moving Body festival platform is dedicated to connecting artists, mediums and audiences through art that shares a strong choreographic sensibility.

The COVID-19 pandemic affects all spheres of both our personal and professional lives, presenting the performing arts with enormous challenges and an urgent need to re-organize their activities, to rethink their role and place in society. Therefore, in 2021, through the instrument of choreography and the lens of the festival platform Moving Body, we want to find those new readings of the current environmental and socio-political challenges of our time, which will become a starting point for our discussions during the main program of the edition in November 2021.

TanzLabor Ulm - ResearchLab

The TanzLabor Ulm - ResearchLab residency facilitates German and European based choreographers to create and premier a dance work. We provide studio space, a stage to perform, travel costs, 3 weeks local accommodation for up to 5 artists and a co-production budget of 3500 euros to create and premier a new work.

Through a national/international open call the selected 'dance makers' are invited to co-produce the work they create in the ResearchLab, and premier it in our PerformanceLab program.

Creative Practice for Contemporary Dance Online 2021

Overview

This six-day online workshop brings together emerging choreographers interested in broadening their understanding of choreographic thinking, and mid-career makers looking to refresh their practice in an environment of shared learning.

The goal of the workshop is to bring our intuitive knowledge and curiosity into an easy dialogue with our critical minds.

We will work in a spirit of rigour that makes space for lightness, play and empathy, while acknowledging the realities of the global pandemic and the intense debate taking place today around social justice issues. We will share our daily work with the group, giving and receiving thoughtful and mutually supportive feedback.
