Life in Ink: Contemporary Tattoo Culture

Humans have decorated their bodies with tattoos for thousands of years. The meanings of these tattoos vary greatly across cultures-- displays of social rankings, punishment for criminals, expressions of spirituality, celebrating achievements in life and war, and simple statements of fashion. It is a form of expression that connects us across cultures, languages, and belief systems.
This exhibition is intended to showcase the infinite possibilities of tattoo art in all of its forms and styles. Express your individualism and creativity by translating body art to fine art. From flash sheets to fully-realized paintings, photographic documentation to three-dimensional representation, we want to see the unique ways in which you express your Life in Ink.

The Indian Contemporary Art Competition

The Indian Contemporary Art Competition (ICAC) aims to discover and promote talented artists from India, the Indian diaspora, as well as foreigners living and working in India. ICAC intends to create an opportunity to celebrate and expose artists who passionately embrace the colorful culture of India. Up for grabs are prizes valued at more than $55,000, all chosen and arranged to give the selected artists the international exposure that will extend their network with fellow artists and collectors from all over the world. Prizes include participation in different events such as a collective exhibition in New York, an art fair, and an online promotion, plus generous cash awards.

CONSCIOUSNESS OF ABSTRACTION: Beyond Literal Appearance

The terms “Abstraction” or “Abstract Art” are perhaps among the most common references describing particular way(s) of understanding and perceiving the cosmic and daily realities in which we find ourselves.  Abstraction, of course, can be many different things, driven by many different principles and suppositions: some conscious, some intuitive. As an artist; What are yours?
