“Wild Life” Digital Art Contest

Pixarra announces a call for artists for “Wild Life” Digital Art Contest. The juried competition is open for 2D and 3D artists of any level from around the world.

All submitted artworks must be digitally created illustrations. Submissions containing filtered photographies, photo manipulations, collages or animation are not accepted.

Participation is free of charge and has no limitations on the number of submissions and the software used to create them.

Entries will be accepted through a submission form on the competition’s official page: www.pixarra.com/competition from May 22 to June 21.

“Spring | Rebirth” Digital Art Contest

Pixarra and TheBest3D are inviting you to take part in their second joint digital painting competition “Spring | Rebirth” which will be held in March and April 2019. The contest is international and is open to 2D and 3D artists of any level.

Participation is free of charge and has no limitations on the software used to create the submissions.

Entries will be accepted through a submission form on the competition’s official page from March 20 to April 9 and voting will be allowed starting from April 10th.

The winners will be selected by representatives of Pixarra Inc. and TheBest3D and will receive the following prizes:

First Place – TwistedBrush Pro Studio 24 and PD Howler 12

Second Place – Pixarra Studio Bundle 2 and PD Howler 11

Alternate Realities 20K Commission

Sheffield Doc/Fest is delighted to announce a £20,000 opportunity for an artist to create an imaginative digital artwork. 

Supported by Arts Council England, Site Gallery, British Council & MUTEK.

With thanks to support from Arts Council England, Site Gallery and British Council, we are offering £20,000 for an artist(s) based anywhere in the world to create an imaginative digital project in documentary to be installed and exhibited in the Alternate Realities exhibition programme as part of Sheffield Doc/Fest’s 26th edition later this year: 6th – 11th June 2019. Additionally MUTEK will be inviting the successful commission winner to their 20th edition in Montreal (20-25 August, 2019) to speak about the work and then tour their project to MUTEK Montreal in 2020.

Animating Our Stories | Indigenous Writing and Digital Illustration

Overview

This program will ignite Indigenous authors and artists focusing on young readers to delve into new ways of storytelling using digital illustration techniques. Through guidance from experienced faculty including recognized Indigenous authors, an illustrator, and a digital animator, participants will learn to lift a story off the page, texturize it, and animate elements of it to life.

Animating Our Stories is a space where storytellers, content producers, and digital media artists will collaborate to fuse modern presentation techniques with the art of storytelling. Participants will explore technology as they learn to illuminate the audience experience of their already vividly imagined stories.
