MUSE Digital Art Award – Connecting visionary artistic minds with the latest sustainable technology

MUSE is a digital art award that brings together creative minds with the latest technology to shape innovative solutions to today’s biggest ecological challenges.

The award's exhibition is powered by Philips Tableaux, a display from PPDS using advanced colour ePaper technology to allow a power-free exhibition of the digital artworks. Participating artists in this premiere edition will hence be the first in history to create artwork for a power-free display, and the finalists will be the first artists ever to take part in a zero-consumption digital art exhibition.

How to Apply:

The Medium Is Technology

Technology as a creative medium has a long rich partnership with the visual arts. As technology continues to change as does the definition of technology as a medium. This constant state of change pushes and pulls at the boundaries of Art. This show seeks to highlight artwork that is made using "technology" as a tool or medium for artwork. This includes but is not limited to graphic design, digital photography, 3D printers, NFT, video art, CNC cut or laser cut materials, video art, robotics, webpages, etc.

Guest Room: Heather Canlas Rigg

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Heather Canlas Rigg, who is part of the curatorial collective ma ma and Artistic Director of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, has decided to collaborate with Capture Photography Festival's Executive Director Emmy Lee Wall. Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: "Photography and Drawing".

What happens when the mediums of photography and drawing collide? Editing software provides myriad ways to draw on, with, and through digital images, while photographic objects can be scratched, erased, written on, and more through physical mark making. How do these gestures change, inform, conceal, reveal, an image's message, an image's form?
