Writer in Residence, to assist a disability service in Broken Hill NSW

A disability service provider is looking for a writer / editor interested in assisting a client to write their autobiography. The service is asking a writer to assist in transcribing, editing, typing and guiding their client through the process. If you are interested in this work and interested in pursuing your own writing as Writer in Residence at the Broken Hill Art Exchange, we are looking for expressions of interest. This could be for a few initial sessions to start the process over a week, or longer-term sessions over several weeks. At this stage we are looking for a writer who is available and interested in an opportunity to live and work in Broken Hill NSW, short or long term.

D/deaf and/or disabled writers in SW England

Write to Play is Graeae’s flagship new writing programme devoted to developing the skills and experience of D/deaf and disabled writers nationwide. Since its inception, the programme has developed the careers of 25 playwrights, including Jackie Hagan, whose first play Cosmic Scallies was co-produced by Graeae and the Royal Exchange Manchester in August 2017.

We are delighted that, for the programme’s sixth year, we will be bringing the programme to the South West of England, working with partner organisations Theatre Royal Plymouth, Wiltshire Creative, Exeter Northcott Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Nuffield Southampton Theatres and the Ustinov Studio at Theatre Royal Bath.

Mobility for Disability: in Carnival and Outdoor Arts

Are you a disabled artist? Are you a performer with mobility challenges? And are you interested in outdoor arts & carnival?

If yes - this is the event for you!

We are holding a FREE one day Seminar funded by Postcode Community Trust, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

We welcome people with all disabilities to this very collaborative event. We particularly want to engage people with physical disabilities, not only with our own artistic activities, but with carnival & outdoor arts more generally.
