Group Residency AIR, SEA AND SOIL: DRAWING WITH PLACE.

The Group Residency has been devised by The Museum of Loss and Renewal with invited partner, artist and academic Danica Maier around the relationships of ‘Air, Sea and Soil’, encompassing the Orkney Islands’ remarkable natural environment. Residents will be welcomed to the historic Birsay area, where the bespoke programme will take place in the excellent accommodation and studio facilities of The Pier Arts Centre’s Linkshouse, and through accredited-guide visits to Neolithic Orkney’s World Heritage Sites. Expert introductions to land and spectacular wildlife will be provided by The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds’ (RSPB) ‘Species on the Edge’ Project, paired with an artist’s talk.

Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2023: Announcement of the Selection Panels & International Call for Entries

The Call for Entries for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2023 is now open to all drawing practitioners from the UK and worldwide to submit their drawings for consideration by a distinguished panel of selectors: Laura Hoptman, Executive Director of The Drawing Center, New York; Dennis Scholl OAM, collector, arts patron and President & CEO of Oolite Arts; Barbara Walker MBE RA, British artist.

SUMMERACADEMY GARDENA 2023

For the fifth time already, the association La Veta organizes this years Summeracademy Val Gardena. It is a two-week course program around drawing and sculpture in the middle of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. 

The Summer Academy is dedicated to artists, sculptors and art students.  A selected group of 20 international participants will be led by a team of three artists.

The focus lays on the human figure, from which large-scale drawing and modelling is carried out using live models.

The participants are familiarised with different aspects of drawing, in order to train their eye, develop their individual design language and deepen their drawing skills. 

Open Call for Physical Exhibition in Sama-L-Ain Gallery

Sama-L-Ain is a high-end gallery located in one of the most touristic locations in Dubai –- in the heart of the Dubai Marina.

It’s a unique opportunity for any artist to be exhibited in a gallery that showcased this year more than four Pablo Picasso pieces, and has a permanent exhibition of works by Banksy, Fano, Brigitte Nataf, Naho, Emmanuelle Rybojad among others.

Sama-L-Ain Gallery has agreed to give a chance to any living artist without limits of age, sex, nationality, culture, or at any stage of their career to participate in this juried competition, as long as their works fit the high standards of this renowned gallery.

The Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute Artists-in-Residence program (AIR) is an education-based residency that allows one to two emerging artists to live, work, and teach on the Munson-Williams and PrattMWP College of Art & Design campus in Utica, New York for one academic year.
