Boulder Dairy Arts Center 2021 Call for Artists

The Dairy’s Visual Art Jury is an eleven-member committee comprised of artists, curators, university faculty and art collectors. Following the close of this year’s call, applications will be reviewed by the Dairy’s Curator of Visual Arts and this jury to select individual artists and groups of artists to exhibit in the Dairy's four galleries during the period defined above.

Most exhibitions are 6 weeks in length and are rotated in all 4 galleries at the same time. Exhibitions in all four galleries are usually planned around the same idea, concept, medium or artist. This provides greater context for all the work and the viewer is able to experience a narrative throughout the entire space. You may be accepted for a solo exhibition or become a part of a group exhibition.

Outside the Box

Outside the Box – With its roots in early human history, abstract art has become one of today’s dominant forms of artistic expression. Recent exhibitions show that far from being indefinable movements set apart from the mainstream, abstraction in its various forms has produced some of the most memorable, influential, and best loved art of any era. Today, thanks to our interconnected world, abstract art has gone global! No longer limited to Europe and America, abstract artists from across the globe are expressing and communicating in the language of line, form, color, and gesture.
