Space 42 Open Call and Grant

Space 42 is currently running an OPEN CALL and up to $5000 Grant for Main Gallery exhibition proposals, with the aim of enabling local, national, and international visual artists to experiment with new ideas and media. We encourage artists to propose site-specific projects that are engaging and risk-taking that extend your practice in concept, scale, and/or scope. We encourage artists from all backgrounds and working in any medium to apply. Proposals should include an overall vision for the Main Gallery. Collectives and artist collaborations are encouraged to apply as long as the work is presented as a singular vision. There is a $25 entry fee to cover cost.

Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant

The Ora Schneider Regional Grant is a month-long residency for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange counties. Gail Schneider Matlin—a gifted artist, former WSW board member, and daughter of Ora Schneider—funds these residencies to honor her mother’s long-time commitment to our community’s cultural life.

WSW awards this residency to two artists, who may choose to work in any of our studio disciplines. Priority will be given to artists with experience and a working knowledge of etching, intaglio, or monoprint; letterpress; papermaking; screenprinting; photography; or ceramics.
