Fine Art Trade Guild are proud to invite you to enter the inaugural Jorge Aguilar-Agon Student Artist Award 2017! Open to emerging 2D artists internationally in their final two years on a higher education art course, the award provides recognition for up-and-coming artists talent.

The winner will be decided by the Fine Art Trade Guild's Fine Art Committee who will be looking for excellence and innovation. They will select the shortlist and winner of the Jorge Aguilar-Agon Student Artist Award 2017, announced at the annual Art and Framing Industry Awards in May 2017, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Why Enter?

  • The overall winner will receive the sought-after Fine Art Trade Guild hand made glass trophy that will be awarded by Jorge Aguilar-Agon.
  • The winner will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the Awards and will dine with industry greats - a brilliant opportunity to network and learn from the best (including the Guild's own Fine Art Committee).

A range of studio spaces to suit most practices and budgets will be available at BN14 Studios, Worthing from 1st March 2017.
Prices range between 85 and 150 per month.

BN14 Art Studios will be taking over the running of the Worthing Art Studios building from March 2017. The new space will be run by a collective of current resident artists, and we look forward to welcoming new members to our studios. hb | Word of Warning and Z-arts are calling for proposals and expressions of interest from artists for Haphazard, our fourth free all ages live art day, taking place on Sat 1st April 2017 at Z-arts, Manchester.

And since its taking place on April Fools day - we thought wed throw the gauntlet down and invite imaginative ideas that play the fool (*not* an invitation for spoof applications please!)

This is not live art for children but live art for all ages, so work should have appeal for adults and children alike.

We have access to a variety of spaces - from black box to gallery to caf, though emphasis will be more on durational work than black-box shows.

UK Theatre have launched their survey of the UKs theatre and performing arts workforce.

They want to hear from EVERY THEATRE & PERFORMING ARTS WORKER across the UK, as well as their employers and training providers. The results will help improve routes into and through the sector, and aid decision-making over the next ten years, including addressing anticipated skills gaps.

The report will be published in early 2017, and the findings will be used for the benefit of the workforce and employers. It will provide the evidence base to influence Government and training providers to ensure a relevant and resilient theatre and performing arts sector.

Cassie Chadderton, Head of UK Theatre & Membership Development, said its essential that we plan to have the right workforce, drawn from a broad talent base, to keep theatre and the performing arts thriving into the future.

Survey respondents will be entered into a draw to win one of four prizes of 50 worth of Theatre Tokens, subject to terms and conditions.
