Gallery “Art Pegazs" invites artists who work in all visual art media to participate in the contest "Tomorrow starts today", organized by the gallery "Art Pegazs" in cooperation with RZ Collection and printing centre “Copy Pro”.

Participation in the competition from the age of 18. All artworks must have been created within the last year. Artists are invited to share their vision on the theme of the contest.

 

20 works of art will be selected in the final of the competition and will be exhibited from 10th December 2020 to 15th January 2021 in the gallery “Art Pegazs” in Riga, Rupniecibas 18. All the artworks of the final exhibition will be promoted online.

Works of art in the following techniques are accepted:

Painting, illustration, drawing, graphics, mixed materials.

No more than 3 two-dimensional artworks.

Maximum size of the artwork: 1.5m x 1.5m.

Venue of the exhibition of the finalists: Gallery “Art Pegazs”, Rupniecibas Street 18, Riga, LV-1010, Latvia

Exhibition dates and deadlines:

Application deadlines: November 22nd, 2020 11:59 PM

Informing the finalists: November 25th, 2020

Deadline for delivery of works of art (if located in Latvia): November 30th, 2020 at 18.00

Foreign works of art will be printed in Latvia to avoid any delays because of the COVID-19.

Dates of the exhibition: 10.12.2020- 15.01.2021

Opening ceremony and announcement of winners will take place online on the platform Zoom: 12.12.2020 at 12:00 to 13:00

Participation fee

There is a one-time non-refundable participation fee for submission

• Eur 25 for one work of art

• Eur 35 for two works of art

• Eur 45 for three works of art

Awards

1st place - Grand Prix - 500 Eur and solo exhibition (two weeks) in the gallery “Art Pegazs” Riga, Latvia

2nd and 3rd places - publicity and promotion awards.

All FINALISTS will also receive an award certificate, as well as publicity in the media.

ALL ACCEPTED ARTWORKS of the participants, also those who will not be chosen by the jury for the final exhibition, will be published on the Facebook profile of the gallery “Art Pegazs”: https://www.facebook.com/pegazsgalerija

The artists will be advertised on social media, mentioned in social media press releases and in the gallery's social network profiles. Links to the winning artist's website will be provided in the competition's online publications, and as a result, an increased flow of views to the artist's website is expected.

First stage

Application procedure:

• In the online application form it will be possible to add up to 3 photo files and download the invoice form (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OTuPISecYPU_b59UbSEH46n_HtnNPtIhduhMGDkaE84/edit#heading=h.gjdgxs), which will have to be used in case your work is accepted to be submitted to the jury for review

• Conditions for the application to comply with the tender regulations:

a) The photography must be qualitatively cropped;

b) File size: 3200 x 4800 px, 300 DPI, max. 5MB, JPG file

c) File name: firstname_lastname_tittleoftheartwork_size

d) The original size of the work of art fits in the size: 1.5m x 1.5m

• After submitting the application within 2 working days you will receive a confirmation e-mail from the Organizer that your artwork meets the conditions of the competition and will be added to the jury commission for consideration after payment of the invoice, which must be done within 2 working days.

• After paying the invoice, the applicant must send the downloaded invoice with his / her details and the amount of the participation fee to the gallery e-mail: artpegazsfonds@gmail.com

• If you do not receive the confirmation letter within 2 working days, your application does not meet the conditions of the competition.

• Registration fee (invoice will be included in the online application template, which will need to be downloaded; after receiving the confirmation, the applicant must enter his/her details and the amount of the participation fee in the invoice, payment must be made within 2 working days, AFTER PAYMENT invoice must be sent by e-mail : artpegazsfonds@gmail.com)

• ALL ARTWORKS that will be in accordance with the conditions of the competition and accepted for the evaluation to the jury will be published on the Facebook profile of the gallery “Art Pegazs”: https://www.facebook.com/pegazsgalerija within 3 working days after the receiving the participation fee. 

The second stage

International jury commission (organized in cooperation with the main sponsor of the contest - RZ Collection: https://rzcollection.com/) selects 20 finalists from the submitted and approved photos of works of art.

Third stage

On November 25th the finalists are informed about the inclusion of their artworks in the final exhibition and are invited to deliver the artwork to the gallery “Art Pegazs” (if located in Latvia) by the deadline (30th November). Foreign works will be printed in Latvia according to the submitted photos. The finalists will be provided with an information about the further activities and the opening ceremony.

The artworks which are located in Latvia and are selected for the exhibition, must be submitted by November 30, 2020 6 PM in the gallery “Art Pegazs”, Rupniecibas Street 18, Riga, LV-1010, Latvia.

Please note:

·         Incomplete or incorrectly processed applications will not be considered.

·         Costs for the delivery of your works of art to and from the exhibition are not included.

·         All works of art must be for sale.

Sales commission

·         Price breakdown: 65% artist 35% gallery

·         In case of sale, the artist must ensure high-quality packaging of the painting and its delivery to the courier. The customer must provide delivery costs.

The aims of the Gallery “Art Pegazs” is to provide for artists an opportunity to develop, to promote artists and their performance to art professionals, galleries, collectors and buyers, as well as to promote international exchanges and intercultural communication.

Open Call VI Festival Video nodoCCS 2020

In the words of writer Arundhati Roy, pandemics have forced humans to break with the past and imagine a new world. This one is no different. It is a portal, a gateway between one world and the next. In these uncertain times, we all have a cultural, artistic and social function in our world, the best we can do for art and society is to put ourselves at its service and not use it to to our own benefit but, through poetic and political imagination, find answers and generate other relationship systems that are part of the solution and not the problem.

 

The VI nodoCARACAS Video Festival is based on these ideas to propose its VI Video Festival, which this year will take place in Kristiansand (Norway) between November 13 and 22 in the spaces of 51K Arteriet and at the same time it will be broadcast live in other cities of the world.

 

nodoCCS is therefore presented as a collaborative project of two artists whose main focus is the Festival de Video nodoCCS: from which the programs, curatorships, meetings, exchanges, exhibitions and collaborations proposed by our founders are born in the place where they are located, in the cities where you are invited. To date nodoCCS has made its programming and its festival in Caracas (Venezuela), Lima (Peru), Bogotá (Colombia), Miami (USA), Berlin (Germany), Madrid (Spain), Karazin (Ukraine), Mexico City and Athens (Greece).

 

Since 2015 and until now there are several roles that nodoCCS has had, moving around places and countries, inhabiting spaces of an institutional and emerging nature, collaborating with people and artists to carry out: our Festival, meetings, screenings, exhibitions and conversations.

BASES

 

1. A maximum of 1 video can be sent per artist or group of any subject and in any language, although it can be subtitled in Spanish and English. Maximum length 8 mins. 

 

The selected works will be part of the program of the VI nodoCCS Video Festival 2020 and will be projected in 51 K Arteriet - Kristiansand (Norway). 

 

When you agree to participate, you acknowledge that the videos are presented to a wider audience and agree to be part of the new spaces and initiatives that the nodoCCS develops to increase its visibility. They may be included in international programs and travel to different cities with which we collaborate.

 

2. The works will be selected by a jury of international specialists coordinated by nodoCCS.

 

3. The submission of the works implies that the artists authorize the projection of their works by the means that nodoCCS considers for their dissemination. The copyright on the work is the exclusive property of the artist who makes the work, which allows its exhibition and dissemination in case of being selected by nodoCCS. The projections will always be free.

 

4. PRESELECTION: The videos must be online, both in open and private version with access via password.

 

5. SELECTION: The selected artists will be contacted by email in October 2020 and will be asked to send the file digitally in maximum quality format, MOV HD or MP4 HD.

 

6. COST: The participation will have an open price that we will take as a donation (starting at 5$) to be able to carry out the management tasks, support the invited artists and collaborate with the installation costs of the festival. 

 

7. The sending of the material implies the acceptance of these bases and all the aspects not contemplated in this regulation will be resolved by nodoCCS.

 

8. THE WINNER will be announced on the first day of the festival and will have a remuneration of $100.

Produktionszentrum Tanz + Performance is collaborating with Akademie Schloss Solitude to award a residency fellowship to contemporary dancers and performers for the first time, this in the context of TANZPAKT Stuttgart, an initiative of the Cultural Office of the State Capital of Stuttgart. By inviting artists from all over the world to apply who are not active as artists in the administrative district of Stuttgart, the participating institutions seek to improve networking and collaboration in Stuttgart’s freelance dance scene, and to facilitate work on choreographic practice. Creating space for inquiry, research and artistic production is a further goal. Willingness to present one’s own work and interact with the Free Dance Scene in Stuttgart are prerequisites.

Two fellowships are being awarded. One from January – June 2021, and the other from July – December 2021.

International Call For Artists - Public Art Piece
For a Real Estate Project in Mexico City - Neuchâtel's Central Plaza in Nuevo Polanco

 

MIRA and MASSIVart invite national and international artists to develop a proposal for a permanent public artwork to be located in the public plaza of MIRA’s latest real estate development in Mexico City: Neuchâtel’s Cuadrante Polanco.

A total budget of 6,000,000.00 MXN Pesos will be allocated to the art installation’s project to give artists the opportunity to create an iconic landmark for Mexico City while beautifying the urban public landscape.

The call for artists will be two-phased:

  • The first stage will shortlist three to four applicants based on qualifications demonstrated from the applicant’s Curriculum Vitae, portfolio of work, and preliminary artistic approach.
     
  • In the second stage, each of the three or four artists or artist teams/collectives will be given a compensatory fee to create a detailed artist proposal including written information, a budget, sketches and renders, preliminary construction plan and other descriptive presentation materials as needed to fully describe the concept intent.

The artists selected during the 1st phase will be aligned with the artistic direction of MIRA and MASSIVart as well as the vision of Neuchâtel Cuadrante Polanco, which is led by a desire to create an iconic and timeless art installation that has the power to engage passersby.

Cold Coffee Gallery is currently accepting submissions for Solo Shows, scheduling up to a year out.

The application deadline for Solo Exhibitions are rolling, with a slot opening every month. Apply by April 21st for a May 5th opening. All submissions are considered and many will be added to our lineup, so please apply any date and let us know if you have a preference of month..

Submission Guidelines

DEADLINES:
Deadlines are noted following the Show title on the next page. There will be ONE (1) Solo Show running at a time as well as TWO (2) curated group shows.
–Solo Shows have a rolling deadline. Artists featured in the Solo Show may not be featured in any concurrent group shows.
Each Solo Show is booked for a month-long run from the 5th of the month to the following month's 4th. One application per Solo Artist per month will be considered. Accepted Solo artists may not apply again for a term of one year.
–Curated Group Shows will have a run time of THREE (3) Months or longer, with dates to be determined at the time of acceptance. Any submissions received after a deadline will be considered as needed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications submitted after the deadline are not guaranteed consideration.

PROPOSALS:
Proposals are only necessary for Solo Show consideration. Proposals may include written descriptions and/or diagrams. Proposals may be or include artists statements.
Proposals will only be accepted electronically using our online form. Materials sent by mail, in person, or by phone will not be considered. All proposals must take into consideration the nature of our virtual gallery and mission statement.

IMAGE SPECS:
Images submitted should be photographed on white background and color balanced.
– 1900px max
– 12 MB max file size
– Accepted file types: png, jpg, jpeg, gif, svg
– Videos and audio also accepted on submission form, additional upload will be required for presentation.

ELIGIBILITY:
We welcome submissions from all artists in all mediums regardless of age, race, sex, gender, or career level. However, preference will be given to emerging and mid-career artists. Femmes, POC, LGBT+, and disabled artists are encouraged to apply.
– Artists should be at least 18 years old.
– Student artists are welcome to apply.

SALE OF WORK:
Work which sells will be sold through Cold Coffee Gallery's point of sale. Cold Coffee Gallery will take a 10% commission for works priced under $70 and a 20% commission for works priced $70 or over.
All works will be displayed in our archive as NFS after the end of each exhibition. Exhibited work must be sold through Cold Coffee Gallery within ten (10) days of the end of the exhibition.
–Artists may not sell or distribute prints of exhibited works outside of Cold Coffee Gallery at any point during exhibition or within ten (10) days of the end of the exhibition.
–Artist will be responsible for the shipping/transportation of sold work to the Purchaser. Purchaser will be responsible for the cost of shipping/transportation/applicable insurance. Purchaser will sign the contract provided by Cold Coffee Gallery at time of purchase agreeing to this process. Artist will receive notification of sale immediately. Artist will receive payment from Cold Coffee Gallery upon Purchaser's receipt of all purchased work.
–Original "Not For Sale" (NFS) work and prints/reproductions will be accepted on a case by case basis.

SUBMISSION FEES:
All submission fees will go directly towards the upkeep, marketing, and maintenance of the website. All submission fees must be paid to Cold Coffee Gallery through Paypal (PayPal.Me/ColdCoffeeGallery). Submissions will not be reviewed until submission fees are received unless otherwise noted.

–Curated Group Shows: $5
–Fee Waivers: Artists who cannot afford submission fees are still encouraged to apply. Please e-mail coldcoffeegallery@gmail.com with the subject line: "FEE WAIVER [full name as it appears on submission]" prior to submission with a brief note summarizing your financial situation.

ACCEPTED WORK:
