National Sunrise & Sunset Show - The Rice Gallery of Fine Art

The Rice Gallery of Fine Art is now accepting submissions for our 5th Annual National Juried Show, THE MAGIC HOUR (Sunrises & Sunsets)!  

This year’s juried event will celebrate that very special time of day when the sun either rises from or sets on the horizon, commonly referred to as “The Magic Hour,” by exhibiting, promoting, and selling an exclusive survey of ORIGINAL SUNRISE & SUNSET LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS.  Our experienced jurors will select the finest original paintings of sunrises and sunsets from artists all over the country for an exclusive feature show at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art, opening Friday, February 7th, 2020. 
 

  • Artists may submit 1 to 5 images of their best sunrise/sunset paintings to be judged on an individual basis by our experienced panel of judges. 
  • All juried selections will be featured for sale in an exclusive gallery exhibition at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art, one of Kansas City’s premier fine art galleries.  This show will be promoted via print, mail, and social media advertising.
  • All selected paintings will be eligible for CASH PRIZES! 
  • All selected works will also be included in an online “digital art opening,” which will present images of each painting via Facebook, YouTube, and www.thericegallery.com for our online audience to purchase and enjoy.  

A non-refundable online application fee of $35 will be collected from each artist submitting their works.  

All entries must be submitted via CAFÉ (www.callforentry.org) no later than Monday, December 23rd, 2019 (12/23/19).  

Artists MUST be members of CAFÉ to submit their works.  CAFÉ is free and easy to join for all artists.

Open Orange 2019

Open Orange is an annual juried exhibit show open to NJ, NYC, and PA area artists, 18 and over, working in two-dimensional media.

It is our flagship art exhibition, designed to showcase both emerging and mid-career artists in Orange and the surrounding region. Each year, we invite independent jurors to select the work to be exhibited as well as the Best in Show winner.

Open Orange 2019 submission information:
Artists, 18 years and over, may submit 1, 2 or 3 works maximum. Jury selection is based on individual pieces of the artist's submission. Artwork size should be no larger than 36" by 36", oversized pieces will not be considered for the show.

All 2D original artwork will be considered - painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, printmaking and other works on canvas, paper, and board. All work should be dated and produced in the last three years. There is a $35 non-refundable fee for the application. See site for submission guidelines and terms.

We have chosen a new theme for this year’s juried show!  The Rice Gallery of Fine Art is now accepting submissions for Portraits & Figures: The 4th Annual National Juried Show!

This year’s juried event will celebrate the human form by exhibiting, promoting, and selling an exclusive survey of ORIGINAL PORTRAITS AND FIGURE PAINTINGS. Our experienced jurors will select the finest original paintings of human figures from artists all over the country for an exclusive feature show at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art, opening Friday, February 1st, 2019.

21st Annual No Dead Artists International Juried Exhibition

Jonathan Ferrara Gallery is a collective environment of creative visions. A commercial gallery with a public conscience. Artist, activist, and entrepreneur Jonathan Ferrara opened the gallery in 1998 to give artists a voice. Since its inception, the gallery has focused on cutting edge works by local, national and international artists with a sense of purpose, mission, and message.

The gallery is known for its stimulating and provocative exhibitions in a wide variety of media. Painting, sculpture, mixed media and installation are the current focus of the gallery's exhibitions. As a curator, producer and promoter, Ferrara has had much success with exhibitions being featured in The New York Times, Time magazine, Art In America, ARTPAPERS, ART News, The Associated Press, ELLE Magazine, NPR and on ABC’s Good Morning America and in numerous other local, national and international publications.

Based in New Orleans, the gallery owes its creative stimulus to its environment, but ever strives to spread its message across the country and the world. Jonathan Ferrara Gallery regularly produces traveling exhibitions and brings its unique brand of creative talent on the road. The gallery has produced exhibitions Hungary, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, Wisconsin and St. Louis. Jonathan Ferrara has also been an active dealer in Cuban art and maintains strong connections with artists in Cuba, having produced two major exhibitions of Cuban art; 2002's "Made In Havana" and 2004's "Havana: Inside Out".

The gallery is well known for numerous community based projects, including the Annual No Dead Artists juried exhibition, ARTDOCS, a non-profit program that provides health care to artists, and New Orleans Artists in Exile, an ongoing traveling exhibit of works by displaced New Orleans artists. Having started his career at Positive Space The Gallery in 1995, Ferrara has moved into the establishment of New Orleans gallery's and become a fixture on Julia Street's gallery row. The gallery has always been a popular opening night gathering place for artists, collectors and curators alike with thousands attending the monthly openings on the first Saturday of each month.

JONATHAN FERRARA GALLERY is seeking artist submissions for the 21st Annual NO DEAD ARTISTS International Juried Exhibition. NO DEAD ARTISTS is a vetted exhibition known for a great diversity in media but with a cohesive cross-section of the pulse of Contemporary Art. The exhibition has been a springboard for numerous artists leading to national press coverage and recognition, art fair presentations, gallery representation and acquisitions by museums and other prominent collections. Each year the gallery invites a panel of renowned arts professionals and collectors to select the NO DEAD ARTISTS finalists. Cityscapes International Online Juried Art Competition

Fusion Art invites submissions for its upcoming online exhibition: Cityscapes 

For this competition artists and photographers worldwide are encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of Cityscapes. According to Merriam-Webster a cityscape is defined as “an artistic representation of a city, an urban environment, a city landscape.”  The Cityscapes theme includes any art or photography which depicts cities, towns, urban scenes and any related metropolitan subjects. The artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction.  Open to artists worldwide and all artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit.

Cash awards will be given in each category. The Best in Show winners in each category are invited to participate in Fusion Art's annual show in Palm Springs, CA in November 2016.
