Art Biologic

ART BIOLOGIC This call is for a thematic exhibition based on art inspired by nature and biology. The exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery, May 18 - June 10, 2023 and is open to all artists working in any media. Eligible are all art forms relating to, or gaining inspiration from nature and biology. Including but not limited to: landscape, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fauna, biological science and human figuration in the context of nature and biology. The Captured Image

The Captured Image is an international call for all forms of photographic art. This exhibition has no overarching theme save the light which traverses the ether, and begets a photograph, "the captured image." All genres of photography, black & white, color, traditional and non-traditional, and digital post-production photographic processes are welcome for submission.

Commemorative Site for Enslaved and Exploited People

PROJECT BACKGROUND 

Davidson College is a liberal arts institution dedicated to cultivating humane instincts and disciplined, creative minds. Our community touchstone is the Reformed Tradition of the Presbyterian Church, a tradition rooted in the belief that all lives are valuable, equal, and deserving of dignity. 

Founded in the American South in 1837, less than thirty years before the Civil War, Davidson College recognizes our participation in slavery and responsibility for the pain and mistreatment of enslaved and exploited people throughout our history.

RESIDENCY 108 fall session

The application period is currently open for our fall session, October 10th-November 7th, 2021.
The deadline is July 18th, 2021. Applicants will be notified by or before August 1st.

Artists of any age from any country may apply. We accept solo artists as well as collaborating teams of up to three people. We are particularly interested in applicants whose practice involves a defined engagement with landscape, ecology, and or projects that employ historical or first-hand research of the 108 site. Please have your statement reflect this intention. If you have social practice or an interest in community engagement, this program may not be a good fit due to the isolated nature of our site.
