December Open Call: Solstice

Our December Open Call, “Solstice," has been created by our 34 Gallery Staff to explore the mental health impact of the holiday season.  This month, we are particularly interested in works by artists utilizing this art therapy open call to address: Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), Circadian Rhythm Disorders, Insomnia, Parasomnia, PTSD & Holiday Isolation.

Themes: As artists, we already know that this time of year can be emotionally volatile and lonely for many.

November Open Call: Noise

Our November Open Call, “Noise," has been created by our 34 Gallery Staff to explore sensory disturbances that impact our emotional state and mental health. This month, we are particularly interested in works by artists utilizing this art therapy open call to address: Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Insomnia & Parasomnia.

Our October Open Call, “Sway," has been created by our 34 Gallery Medical Advisor Dr. Roba M. M. Abd ElAziz to explore mood swings and emotional regulation. This month, we are particularly interested in works by artists utilizing this art therapy open call to address: Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Sleep Paralysis, Insomnia, & Substance Abuse Recovery.

September Open Call: Stillness

Our September Open Call, “Stillness," has been created by our 34 Gallery Medical Advisor Dr. Roba M. M. Abd ElAziz to explore emotional numbness after traumatic situations. Previous Winners can be found on the Open Calls page of our website. Our initiative aims to channel the power of art to explore monthly mental health themes through art therapy. Your participation is a form of mental health advocacy that also brings global attention to these conditions.

August Open Call: Hindsight

Our August Open Call, “Hindsight," has been created by our 34 Gallery Staff to generate discussion on past experiences that gain clarity over time. Previous Winners can be found on the Open Calls page of our website. Our initiative aims to channel the power of art to explore monthly mental health themes through art therapy.  This month, we are particularly interested in works by artists utilizing this art therapy open call to address regret, trauma recovery, substance abuse recovery, PTSD, and negative self-talk spirals.
