Residencies In The Time Of COVID

Announcing an artist residency designed for these times of Covid-19 for visual artists, musicians, writers, architects, clay artists, performers, and other makers.

We’ve been brainstorming how to re-open the AIR program at ArteSumapaz. Back in March ‘20, we went into lockdown with 13 artists, and learned a lot in the process. We believe that a key part of the AIR experience is the commensality – those wonderful conversations we have while sharing a glass of wine and a good meal. Thus, the idea of these new restrictions are daunting; yet needed for going forward in the near future.

So, how will these new residencies be different from other types of residencies?

POSTCARD SHOW / NATURE / NOTTINGHAMSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust (UK) announces a nature inspired Postcard Show, inviting artists (local, national and international) to submit an original postcard sized artwork to be shown at our prestigious Wilder Idle Valley Reserve Centre in North Nottinghamshire.

Inspired by the natural world, art work is welcomed in a range of mediums including drawing, painting, pasting, print, illustration, graphic, textiles and mixed media, and themes could include:

RESIDENCY 108 fall session

Artists of any age from any country may apply. We accept solo artists as well as collaborating teams of up to three people. We are particularly interested in applicants whose practice involves a defined engagement with landscape, ecology, and or projects that employ historical or first-hand research of the 108 site. Please have your statement reflect this intention. If you have social practice or an interest in community engagement, this program may not be a good fit due to the isolated nature of our site.

Ready for Post-COVID-19? AIR in remote Colombian center for the arts

Inspired by the legacy of such great residencies as Yaddo and Macdowell, we've designed our Artist-in-Residency program to be one in which visual artists, writers, musicians, and other makers, have the opportunity to experience profound growth. We believe there are three major aspects that can help contribute to break-through: inspiring working space; being surround by awesome nature; and commensality with like-minded souls.

Arte Natura

Arte Natura is a thematic exhibition based on art inspired by the natural world. The exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery, May 7 - 30, 2020 and is open to all artists working in any media. All interpretations of the theme are acceptable, including landscape, fruits, vegetables, flowers and fauna and human figuration as part of the natural environment.
