The name of this residency programme "APOLAN" is a mandarin pronunciation of "阿婆蘭", an unique native specie of Phalaenopsis amabilis in Taiwan. The name represents what we believe in culture, that focuses on uniqueness, originality and blossoms as flowers, which we will like to share with the world.

The Dark Side | Call For Artists!

Does a latent shadow reside in the heart of artistic creation and within the souls of the artists themselves?

If any figure could parallel the introspective solitude of a monk, it is the visual artist. Though it may stir debate, let us reflect. Consider the profound solitude, the palpable stillness of the studio where silent hours merge into days, as the artist labors and broods over their craft, fervently hoping for the world to awaken to the brilliance of their ideas, to feel the pulse of their passion embedded in their work.

Artist Open Call: The Gallery Season 4 exhibition

The Gallery is a new kind of cultural institution without walls that challenges traditional models of viewing art. Each season we invite artists to respond to the some of the most important topics and questions of our time. The aim of the project is to generate meaningful debate and start a national conversation through art.

Taking over thousands of public sites traditionally reserved for advertising, The Gallery is powered by the Out-of-Home industry exhibiting on street billboards, digital screens, bus shelters and cinemas. To date, the past three seasons of The Gallery have been viewed over 164 million times by people across the UK.
