AAP Magazine 27 Colors

Life is a stream of colors. Red, blue, yellow, and all the possible combinations in between these primary colors without forgetting black and white surround us everywhere.

Send us your images - preferably a cohesive body of work or portfolio - both where colors may not just influence the pictures, but where it may also be the subject solely. The contest is open to any color photography interpretation, from photojournalism, street photography, artistic photography, portrait, nude, landscapes, nature, wildlife, urban, architecture, fashion, fine art or documentary photography.

Winners will receive $1,000 in cash awards, their winning image(s) or full portfolio published in AAP Magazine #27, extensive press coverage and global recognition.

Guest Room: OFFICE IMPART

Guest Room aims to spark collaboration. Johanna Neuschäffer and Anne Schwanz, founders of the multi-dimensional space and platform for contemporary art OFFICE IMPART, have decided to collaborate with the artist Christian Mio Loclair, who works at the interface of artistic and scientific research.

Together, they have developed the following framework for your submissions: “Simultaneity”.

The complexity of our time can be described wonderfully with the word simultaneity. An either/or categorization becomes obsolete and truths and principles that seem to contradict each other enter into synergy. Creative processes and AI, natural phenomena and the metaverse, everyday processes and algorithms - how do these simultaneities have an effect on photographic image production?

"Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it." -Mark Twain

When you think of having courage, or being courageous, do you think of yourself? Who do you think of? We all have courage. We have courage to put ourselves out there, and whether or not people will accept us is not up to us. We have courage to put our art out there, even if no one will ever see it.

Art League of Long Island’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery Presents “Time's Running Out: An iPhonography and 3D(isaster) Sculpture Exhibition” October 1 - 28

The Art League of Long Island presents a body of digital photographic artwork and trash sculpture, highlighting the contrast between nature’s beauty and the environmental pollution and decay found throughout the country, including on Long Island’s roadways, parks, and beaches. The exhibit, created by Scott Schneider’s Toxic/Nature Studios®, is on view October 1 through October 28, 2022.  The opening reception on October 1 is from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and open to the public.

Scott Schneider states: “Toxic/Nature Studios® features environmental photography that celebrates the majesty of nature and laments its demise, in small moments. Using close-up macro techniques, the photographs express my appreciation for and concern about the environment.
